Metabolic Care physician in a one-on-one telehealth consultation

The questions that never quite fit into a 15-minute visit.

If you have been reading, tracking, and testing but still can't tell what to do first, that is what this visit is for.

01

“My labs aren't technically abnormal, but are they actually optimal?”

Your physician looks at your existing results in the context of your history, symptoms, and goals, not just the reference range printed on the page.

02

“Which health metrics actually deserve my attention?”

Wearables and panels produce endless numbers. A physician can help you decide which ones are worth tracking and which are noise for you.

03

“Should I really be taking all of these supplements?”

Bring your full list. You review what you take, why you take it, and what is worth keeping, changing, or stopping.

04

“How do I turn all of this information into an actual plan?”

That is the point of the visit. You leave with written priorities and clear next steps.

05

“I feel fine. Is it too early to be thinking about this?”

Feeling well is the best possible starting point for a prevention-minded conversation about the years ahead.

Common topics, tailored to you:

  • Metabolic health
  • Prevention
  • Healthspan and longevity
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise and movement
  • Sleep and recovery
  • Lifestyle and stress
  • Supplements
  • Existing lab results
  • Metabolic markers
  • Glucose and insulin
  • Weight and body composition
  • Cardiometabolic risk
  • Medication strategies

Not every patient receives a medication or supplement recommendation. Recommendations are individualized and made only when clinically appropriate. Metabolic Care does not prescribe controlled substances, testosterone or performance-enhancing drugs, and does not provide emergency care.

You choose your physician.

Board-certified doctors in longevity, prevention, family, functional, and lifestyle medicine. You pick yours when you book.

You are not booking a questionnaire, a coaching call, or an automated report. You are booking one physician's undivided attention for 40 minutes.

Why a physician, and why 40 minutes.

Most health information is not wrong. It just wasn't written for your history, your labs or your medications.

Podcasts, wearables, supplement stacks, competing diets, panels full of numbers. Working out which of it applies to you is a clinical judgment call. A physician can look at your history, medications, symptoms, existing testing, risk factors, lifestyle and goals as one connected picture instead of a list of separate datapoints, and 40 minutes is long enough to actually do it.

What this is not

  • Not a health coaching session
  • Not an online questionnaire
  • Not an automated or AI-generated wellness report
  • Not a supplement sales consultation
  • Not a replacement for your primary care physician or emergency care

Metabolic Care works alongside the care you already receive. Recommendations are individualized and no outcomes are guaranteed.

What the 40 minutes actually looks like.

Four steps. The intake and the record review happen before the call, so the appointment itself is all conversation.

Prepare

You complete an intake and upload what matters: current medications, supplements, any lab results you already have, and the questions you want answered. Your physician reads it before you meet, so the visit does not start from zero.

Meet

You meet by video, one-on-one with your physician. 40 minutes as a new patient, 25 minutes as a returning patient. Nothing rushed, nothing generic.

Prioritize

Work through the metabolic factors and health goals most relevant to you, and decide together what deserves attention first, second, and later.

Leave with a plan

You receive a written plan: your priorities in order, your next steps, and a clear sense of what to ignore for now. Booking a follow-up later is optional. Nothing renews automatically.

Questions before you book.

What is metabolic optimization?

Metabolic optimization is physician-led care focused on how your metabolism is actually working and on protecting your long-term health. Instead of waiting for a problem, you and a physician review your history, lifestyle, existing lab results, and goals, then decide which changes are most likely to help you specifically. Some practices call this health optimization, longevity medicine, or prevention medicine. The work is the same.

Who is this consultation for?

Adults who want to be proactive about metabolic health, prevention, healthspan and longevity. It suits people who are already deep in nutrition, exercise, supplements or lab testing and want a physician to help prioritize, and people who simply want a knowledgeable place to start.

Do I need lab results to book, and are lab panels included?

You do not need lab results to book. If you have them, you are welcome to upload existing results, records, medication lists and supplement lists before your visit, and your physician will review what is relevant. Neither consultation includes a laboratory panel. If new testing would be useful, your physician can discuss it with you and it would be arranged and billed separately. If you would rather start with a physician-reviewed lab panel, see the Advanced Metabolic Roadmap.

Can a physician recommend medications or supplements?

Your physician may recommend medications or supplements when clinically appropriate for your individual situation. Nothing is guaranteed or required, and no medication or supplement is right for everyone. Metabolic Care does not prescribe controlled substances, testosterone or performance-enhancing drugs. The consultation fee covers your physician's time. Anything prescribed or recommended is purchased separately.

Is this a subscription or a membership?

No. Each consultation is a one-time fee, taken when you schedule. Nothing renews and there is no membership. Booking a follow-up later is entirely your choice.

Does this replace my primary care physician?

No. This is a focused consultation about metabolic health and optimization. It complements the care your own physicians provide and does not replace primary care, specialty care or emergency care.

Which states are Metabolic Care physicians licensed in, and what if I'm not sure which one to choose?

Physicians are licensed state by state, and availability depends on the clinician's licensure and your location. You select your state at the start of booking, so you only see the physicians licensed where you live, along with their backgrounds. Any of them can conduct a Metabolic Optimization Consultation. If you would like help choosing, a free Care Navigation Call is available.

Can I use insurance, HSA or FSA funds?

Metabolic Care is direct-pay and does not submit or contest insurance claims; fees are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or commercial insurance. Some patients are able to use HSA or FSA funds depending on their own circumstances, and receipts are available on request.

What happens after my consultation?

You leave with a written plan: priorities and next steps you can begin on your own. You can book a follow-up whenever you want to review progress or adjust your plan, and nothing obliges you to. Ongoing messaging between appointments is not included with a consultation.

Genuinely not sure this is the right service?

A Care Navigation Call is a short, non-clinical conversation with our team. No medical advice is given. It exists to help you pick the right service, not to stand in for the physician visit. If your questions are about cancer care, start with the Cancer Care Consultation instead.

Stop researching. Start deciding.

You already have the questions. Forty minutes with a physician is what turns them into a plan.

The best time to sort out your metabolic health is while you still have plenty of room to act on it.
