Patient Case Story: JG
Short Excerpt: Diagnosed with aggressive stage IV prostate cancer and bone metastases, JG was given three years to live. Through surgery, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, repurposed medications, and a comprehensive lifestyle overhaul, he achieved no evidence of disease (NED) by 2019. Today, JG remains cancer-free, active, and an advocate for integrative cancer care.
Patient Profile
- Age: 61 years old
- Gender: Male
- Diagnosis: Stage IV Prostate Cancer (Gleason 4/4, very aggressive) with metastasis to bones
- Date of Diagnosis: October 2018
Initial Presentation
JG was undergoing a routine blood workup in preparation for a stem cell therapy knee replacement when elevated levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) were detected. This prompted a referral to a urologist, who performed a biopsy that revealed aggressive prostate cancer. At the time of diagnosis, JG’s PSA was 60, and the Gleason score was 4/4, indicating a very aggressive form of cancer.
Initial Treatment
Seeking a second opinion, JG was advised to undergo a prostatectomy. Following surgery, pathology confirmed that the cancer was at stage IV with bone metastases. His prognosis was grim, with an estimated life expectancy of just three years.
JG’s treatment journey included:
- Radiation Therapy: which unfortunately led to a bone fracture and necessitated a hip replacement.
- Chemotherapy: Completed six rounds.
- Hormonal Therapy: Ongoing Lupron injections.
- Metabolic Acting Repurposed Medications- 2019-present
Lifestyle Changes
In a proactive approach to his health, JG’s wife developed a comprehensive anti-cancer regimen that he credits for enhancing his recovery and immune support during chemotherapy. This regimen included:
- Nutritional Supplements: Milk Thistle, Probiotics, Oregon Grape, Vitamin D, Calcium, low-dose Aspirin, Bee Pollen, Shark Liver Oil, Dandelion Root, and a mushroom blend featuring seven types of medicinal mushrooms.
- High-Dose Vitamin C Injections: Administered weekly.
- Dietary Changes: Transitioned to a plant-based diet, eliminated sugar, and prioritized organic foods.
- Metabolic Repurposed Medications: This included Doxycycline, Metformin, Ivermectin, Atorvastatin, and Mebendazole, which were used to potentially enhance the efficacy of his cancer treatment by targeting metabolic pathways and reducing inflammation.
- Metformin: Used for type 2 diabetes, it may reduce cancer cell proliferation and enhance hormonal therapy efficacy.
- Doxycycline: An antibiotic with potential anti-cancer properties that can inhibit tumor growth.
- Mebendazole: Antiparasitic drug showing anticancer activity. Mebendazole disrupts microtubule formation, preventing proper cell division and leading to cancer cell death. It may also inhibit cancer stem cells, crucial for preventing metastasis.
- Atorvastatin: A statin that lowers lipids and is being studied for its potential to reduce cancer progression.
Current Status
Since October 2019, JG has been declared No Evidence of Disease (NED). His oncologist remarked, “You’ve eradicated the cancer from your body.” JG works full time and is dedicated to staying fit and active. Currently, JG’s PSA levels are undetectable, a remarkable turnaround given his initial prognosis.
Ongoing Health Regimen:
JG continues with Lupron injections and adheres to a strict regimen, taking 90% of the supplements and maintaining his protocol of repurposed medications. His diet consists primarily of organic foods, including fish and chicken, and vegetables. He occasionally indulges in red meat but avoids processed meats and restricts sugar intake.
Exercise and Faith:
A dedicated exercise program helps JG stay physically active; he swims laps daily and lifts weights at the gym. His faith plays a crucial role in his recovery; he expresses gratitude daily for his healing journey.
Advice for Other Patients
JG encourages fellow cancer patients to be tenacious and aggressive in their fight against cancer. He emphasizes the importance of being informed about dietary choices, supplements, and the potential benefits of repurposed medications as adjunctive treatments. He believes that a proactive approach, combined with traditional therapies, can enhance treatment outcomes and improve quality of life.
In summary, JG’s journey illustrates a powerful example of resilience and the potential for integrative approaches in cancer treatment. His story is an inspiration for others facing similar battles, and reinforces the idea that a multifaceted strategy can yield remarkable results.
