FOR LIFE AFTER CANCER TREATMENT · R-MOP

Remission is a milestone.
Now build the life you fought for.

“Cancer treatment can consume your life. When it ends, you’re often left wondering what comes next.”
~ Charles J. Meakin, MD, founder of Metabolic Care

If you've finished cancer treatment, R-MOP is a 3-month program that pairs a physician-led metabolic plan with one-on-one coaching. Month 1 gives you a clear direction, built from your history and your labs. Months 2 and 3 help you actually follow it.

3 appointments · Physician-led · Board-certified coaching · 100% telehealth

Designed to complement your oncology care, not replace it.

Life After Treatment

Treatment ended.
The questions didn't.

During treatment there was a schedule. Appointments, scans, decisions, a team focused on what came next.

Then remission arrives and the structure disappears. Most people want to take better care of themselves now. Far fewer are told where to start, or given any help making it stick.

01

What should I be eating?

02

How do I rebuild my strength and energy?

03

Which health markers should I pay attention to?

04

How do I improve my sleep and manage stress?

05

Which recommendations actually matter for me?

06

How do I follow through on the goals I keep meaning to start?

R-MOP was created for this chapter.

A Different Approach

A medical plan is only valuable if it becomes part of your life.

Most people leave a good medical appointment with a plan and no help carrying it out. Most people leave a good coaching session motivated, without knowing which numbers the plan should be built around. R-MOP is built so you don't have to choose.

MEDICAL STRATEGY

Your Metabolic Health

Led by your Metabolic Care physician

You get a clear read on your current health picture, a short list of metabolic priorities worth your attention, and a written strategy built from your history, your labs, your current care, and what you actually want.

PERSONAL COACHING

Your Everyday Life

Led by Chelsea Rolfes, BSN, RN, NBC-HWC

You work out which of those priorities matter most to you, what has gotten in the way before, and what a realistic week actually looks like across nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, energy, and the parts of life that got smaller during treatment.

Your physician helps you decide what to change. Your coach helps you actually change it.

Your First 90 Days

Three months.
One clear path forward.

Each month has a different purpose. Three appointments across three months, one with your physician, two with your coach, plus secure portal messaging in between and guidance on your follow-up labs. Together, they bridge the gap between knowing what you want to change and actually making it happen.

01MONTH 1Understand + PlanMeet with your Metabolic Care physician

Your first month sets the medical foundation. Your labs are drawn before the visit, so your physician is reading your actual numbers rather than a questionnaire. In the appointment you'll go through your history, your current care, what those labs show, and the health priorities that matter most to you. Together you identify where to focus and build an individualized metabolic strategy, which may include nutrition, lifestyle, supplements, medications, or other metabolic approaches when clinically appropriate. Nothing recommended here is intended to replace or interfere with your oncology care, and you're encouraged to share your written strategy with your oncology team.

You leave Month 1 with a written strategy and a short list of what deserves your attention first.

A plan only works if it survives a normal week. In your first session with Chelsea you'll clarify which goals actually matter to you, name what has gotten in the way before, and turn the strategy into a handful of specific actions that fit your real schedule and your real energy. Depending on what you're working toward, that may cover nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, mindset, energy, relationships, connection, or purpose.

You leave Month 2 knowing exactly what you're doing this week, and why.

By Month 3 you'll know what held and what didn't. That's the point of this session. You and Chelsea look at what's working, troubleshoot what isn't, and rebuild the parts that turned out to be unrealistic. The goal is not a perfect record. It's a set of habits and priorities you can keep without a program behind them.

You leave Month 3 with a plan you can actually keep living, and a clear picture of what continued support would look like if you want it.

Month 1 gives you clarity. Months 2 and 3 turn clarity into change.

After treatment ends, most people do one of three things.

Wait for the next oncology follow-up.

Your oncologist is watching for recurrence, which is exactly their job. Metabolic and lifestyle questions rarely fit inside that appointment.

Work it out alone.

The information is out there. So is an enormous amount of contradictory information, and nobody to tell you which of it applies to your history and your labs.

Join a general wellness program.

Built for a general population, without your medical history in front of it.

R-MOP is the fourth option: a physician who reads your labs and your history, and a coach who helps you act on what they find.

Built Around You

What do you want your life after cancer to look like?

The answer is different for everyone. That's the point.

R-MOP is not about following someone else's definition of wellness. It is about identifying what matters to you and creating a realistic path toward it.

Tap the areas that matter most to you

Your R-MOP plan is built around the areas of life that matter most to you.

These are areas of support and personal goal-setting, not guaranteed medical outcomes. Selecting an area here is just a way to see how the program is individualized, nothing is submitted or saved.

Your Team

The two people you'll actually work with.

You work with two people across the 90 days: a physician and a board-certified health and wellness coach. Both will know your history before you speak.

Physician · Clarity + Direction

Charles J. Meakin, MD, MHA, MS

Dr. Meakin is a board-certified radiation oncologist with more than 35 years of experience caring for people with cancer, including 24 years as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at CaroMont Cancer Center.

He founded Metabolic Care to offer accessible, whole-person care that emphasizes nutrition, movement, lifestyle medicine, and evidence-informed metabolic strategies alongside conventional cancer care. After decades of treating people with cancer, he founded Metabolic Care because the questions patients asked him most, about food, movement, energy, and what to do once treatment ended, were the ones there was never time to answer in a clinic visit.

He reviews your current health picture, relevant history, and available laboratory data to develop an individualized metabolic strategy.

Chelsea Rolfes, BSN, RN, NBC-HWC

Chelsea · Action + Follow-Through

Chelsea Rolfes, BSN, RN, NBC-HWC

Chelsea is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) who started out as a nurse, a BSN from the University of South Carolina, years at the bedside, then healthcare leadership. That background matters here. She is fluent in the clinical side of your plan, and she is trained in the part medicine usually leaves out, which is how people actually change what they do.

She won't hand you a meal plan or a workout. She meets you where you are, helps you decide which changes are worth your effort, finds the version that fits the life you have, and helps you move from autopilot to intention. Her view of health is multidimensional - how you eat, move, sleep, handle stress, connect with people, and find purpose. The whole method is building routines you can sustain without her.

Your physician helps establish the direction. Chelsea helps you make it sustainable.

Is R-MOP Right for Me?

R-MOP may be right for you if…

You have completed active cancer treatment or are now navigating remission or survivorship.

You want more structure around your metabolic and overall health.

You have goals around nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, energy, or well-being but want help turning them into action.

You want physician guidance without losing sight of your life outside medicine.

You want accountability and support, not another overwhelming list of things you are “supposed” to do.

You have finished active treatment, including if you are still taking a long-term maintenance medication such as hormone therapy, or are in regular follow-up with your oncologist.

R-MOP probably isn't the right fit if…

You're still in active cancer treatment. Our Cancer Metabolic Optimization Protocol is built for that stage.

You're looking for an alternative to conventional cancer care. R-MOP complements your oncology care and is not a substitute for it.

You want a program that manages your health for you. This one works with you, and it asks something of you between appointments.

Questions about R-MOP

What exactly is R-MOP?

R-MOP is a physician-led metabolic care and board-certified health and wellness coaching program for people who have completed active cancer treatment and are navigating remission or survivorship. It combines a review of your health history and metabolic labs with an individualized care strategy, practical coaching, and ongoing support. It complements, but does not replace, your oncology care.

Is R-MOP cancer treatment?

No. R-MOP does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent cancer. It provides physician-led metabolic guidance and personalized board-certified health and wellness coaching for people navigating remission and survivorship.

Is this program based on the idea that my lifestyle caused my cancer?

No. Cancer has many causes and most of them are outside anyone's control. Nothing in R-MOP is built on the idea that you did something wrong, and no part of it is about looking backward. This program starts from where you are today.

Who will my physician be?

Your physician visit is with Charles J. Meakin, MD, MHA, MS, a board-certified radiation oncologist with more than 35 years of experience and the founder of Metabolic Care.

What happens during the physician visit?

Your physician reviews your current health picture, relevant medical history, metabolic lab results, current care, and personal priorities. You will discuss an individualized metabolic strategy, which may include nutrition, lifestyle, supplements, prescriptions, or other approaches when clinically appropriate.

What happens during wellness coaching?

Your board-certified health and wellness coach helps you identify meaningful goals, translate priorities into realistic actions, work through barriers, and build sustainable routines that fit your everyday life.

Why do I need a coach if I already have a plan from a physician?

Because a plan and a routine are different problems. Your physician's job is to work out what should change, based on your history and your labs. Turning that into something you actually do, in a real week, with everything else you're managing, is a separate skill, and it's what board-certified health and wellness coaching is trained for. Most people don't fail at knowing what to do. They get stuck at doing it.

How long does the program last?

Your first phase is a structured 90-day program. After the first three months, ongoing R-MOP support continues for $229 monthly.

Are labs required?

Yes. Baseline metabolic labs are ordered through Quest Diagnostics and are billed separately from your program fee. Additional labs, such as tumor markers, cost extra. Labs are typically drawn at the start of the program and repeated every three to six months depending on your physician's instructions.

Are medications or supplements required?

No specific medication or supplement is mandatory. Recommendations are individualized based on your history, lab results, and clinical needs. When appropriate, your physician may write a prescription or recommend supplements.

Are medications, supplements, or labs included in the program price?

No. Laboratory testing, supplements, and prescription medications are paid for separately. Your physician will determine what is appropriate for you, and any related costs are separate from the R-MOP program fee.

Can new patients join R-MOP directly?

Yes. R-MOP is open to new and returning patients who have completed active cancer treatment and are navigating remission or survivorship. If you are currently in active treatment, our Cancer Metabolic Optimization Protocol may be a better fit.

Am I eligible if I'm still on hormone therapy or another maintenance medication?

Yes. You may be eligible if you have finished active treatment and are still taking a long-term maintenance medication such as hormone therapy, or are in regular follow-up with your oncologist.

Does R-MOP replace my oncologist?

No. R-MOP is designed to complement your oncology and primary medical care, not replace it.

Will you coordinate with my oncologist?

R-MOP does not replace your oncologist. You are encouraged to share your written metabolic strategy and other program information with your oncology team.

How soon after enrolling does the program start?

After enrollment, you will receive access to the patient portal and instructions for completing your intake forms and baseline labs. Your physician consultation is typically scheduled after your results are available for review.

What happens after the first three months?

R-MOP continues at $229 per month. The three-month cycle repeats: a 25-minute physician follow-up in Month 4, then 60-minute sessions with Chelsea in Months 5 and 6. The same pattern continues in later months.

Can I cancel?

You can cancel any time after your first 90 days. Under the current fulfillment policy, approved refunds are issued at 75% of the total fee, with 25% retained for processing, administrative, and staffing costs.

Can insurance cover R-MOP?

R-MOP is a self-pay program. Metabolic Care does not bill insurance or submit superbills. Eligible patients may be able to use HSA or FSA funds and should confirm eligibility with their plan administrator.
