Does Metabolic Care replace my oncologist?
No. Your oncologist is your own physician and is not part of Metabolic Care. Surgery, radiation, systemic therapy, imaging, staging and cancer-treatment decisions all stay with your oncology team. Metabolic Care complements standard oncology care and does not replace it.
Which service should I start with?
If you have questions about your diagnosis and want a physician's time, start with the Cancer Care Consultation. If you have a genomic or transcriptomic tumor report you do not understand, start with the Astron Health Report. If you are in active treatment and want ongoing structure, start with C-MOP. If you have finished active treatment, start with R-MOP. If none of those is obviously yours, book the free 15-minute Care Navigation Call and a coordinator will help you choose. That call is non-clinical and no medical advice is provided on it.
Which states are your physicians licensed in?
Physicians are licensed state by state, and between them they see patients in all 50 states. Select your state at booking to see only physicians licensed where you live.
Is this appropriate for my type or stage of cancer?
Metabolic questions surrounding cancer care arise across cancer types and at every treatment stage, including before treatment begins and after it ends. Physicians tailor the discussion to your diagnosis, your current treatment and your present situation.
Can I use insurance, HSA or FSA funds?
Metabolic Care is direct-pay. Fees are not covered by Medicare, Medicaid or commercial insurance, and Metabolic Care does not file or contest insurance claims. Some patients use HSA or FSA funds, and receipts are available on request.
Can my physician review labs I already have?
Yes. You can upload existing laboratory results, medical records, imaging reports, medication lists and supplement lists before your visit for physician review.
Are lab panels included?
Neither consultation includes laboratory testing or a lab panel. New testing is arranged and billed separately, and typically ranges from $50 to $150. C-MOP and R-MOP include metabolic lab monitoring in the program structure, but the laboratory testing itself is billed separately.
Are medications or supplements required?
No. No specific medication or supplement is mandatory. Recommendations are individualized based on your history, your lab results and your clinical needs, and many patients receive nutrition, lifestyle and monitoring guidance without any prescription. When medications are recommended, physicians use low-dose approved medications reviewed for interactions with your treatment. No controlled substances are prescribed. Medications and supplements are purchased separately.
What happens after my first appointment?
You receive a written plan with the priorities you discussed and your next steps. For continued structure and support, C-MOP is available during active treatment and R-MOP is available after it. You can book another consultation whenever you want. Ongoing messaging between appointments is not included with a consultation.
Will you coordinate with my oncologist?
Metabolic Care does not replace your oncologist. You are encouraged to share your written metabolic strategy and other program information with your oncology team.
